Technical details of the online transmission

In Quest for a Pink Dolphin expedition’s transmission will be organized with the help of the newest technologies. “Live” video of high quality will be compressed to 256 Kbit/sec stream with exclusive ACT-L3™ codec by Streambox company and transmitted through the mobile satellite terminal BGAN INMARSAT. This solution is the best option when you need to provide mobility and fast equipment setup (especially if broadcasting is coming from the life endangering places). High performance, reliability and a minor signal delay are the qualities of our partners from Streambox company’s products. That’s why this technology is used by NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration), along with CNN and VGTRK (All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company).
Throughout the whole time of Expedition two portative cameras will be constantly streaming the video onto the project’s official site www.worldextreme.ru and to the World Encyclopedia of Travel’s site. Most of the time the cameras will be fixed on participants’ helmets and during the rest break they will be placed on the poles or trees above the camp.
Members of the Expedition also include the film crew of the famous Russian TV program Animal World.
On return to St. Petersburg the film about extreme expedition to the Amazon will be edited by professionals and presented to all the members of the project in the DVD format.
